Shavonne is a biologist, a fierce advocate for education, mother, grandmother, author, and dynamic person who has a passion for the enlightenment of our future generations. Combining science and imagination, Shavonne writes for children of all ages using illustrations that leap off the page and bring the story to life. Shavonne is a life-long learner currently pursuing a doctoral degree. Her previously earned degrees from Grambling State and Louisana Tech Universities afforded her the privilege of serving as an educator for over 25 years. Growing up in Detroit, she always understood the importance of education and the opportunities it could offer. She also enjoys volunteering in the community, serving on the board of a nonprofit organization, helping others, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
